Fundraising Fundamentals and Grantwriting Basics.

Includes: elements of a comprehensive fundraising program, developing fundraising plan, successful grantseeking, and putting together a winning proposal.

Telling Your Story, Selling your Program:  A One Day Short-Course on Media and Public Relations for Non-Profits

Want to better communicate your message, both to the general public and the press?  Then come to this one-day workshop!  You'll learn how to work more effectively with the media and how to become a better spokesperson for your organization.  We'll discuss the components of a comprehensive communications plan that can build awareness of your programs among both potential clients and financial supporters, and help you design a plan for your organization that won't break your budget.  We'll talk about framing the issues your organization addresses, developing key messages that resonate with the public and coming up with strategies for getting these messages out.  Members of the media will tell you firsthand what makes a good story and give you some tips on interviewing so you'll be ready when a reporter calls you.

Building an Effective Board

Are you a new organization, building your first board of directors?  Are your current board members suffering board burnout? Are you trying to recruit new board members and wondering who to recruit (and how)?  This workshop will address all these issues and more, including the roles and responsibilities of the board and staff in managing, governing, and raising money for an organization, and ensuring that your organization has a structure in place for recruiting, training, evaluating and (when necessary) replacing members of the board. Both board members and staff are welcome to attend.

If you would like to host a workshop in your area, contact us. As the host, you provide the site and help us identify other organizations that would benefit from having board and staff attend.  Hosting organizations for programs with a minimum of 15 participants may send two participants free of charge.
